A Message from the Head Administrator

Greetings!

Thank you for visiting our website and giving us the chance to tell you about Portersville Christian School.

One of the terms I would use to describe our school is “distinctively Christian.” I describe that in several different ways.

First of all, it means that the people who make up our faculty and staff are all Christians who profess a personal faith in Jesus as their savior, and are actively involved in the ministry of a local church. They are people who desire to serve God out of gratitude for the grace they have received through Jesus, and part of that service is what they do for the families who send their children to our school.

Second, it means that our school is involved in a partnership with the parents of its students. Parents are held accountable by God for raising and educating their children, and at PCS, our staff understands that it is an honor for parents to choose their classroom as a place of significance in their education. They will do more than just teach academics, they will serve as Christian role models for their students.

Third, it means that our basic philosophy of education recognizes God as the creator and sustainer of the universe, and as the source of all truth. We recognize that he has given us a revelation of his truth in the Bible, and that the process of learning is one of discovering God’s revealed truth. The values and principles which make up the content of the Bible are woven into the very core of our curriculum, and integrated into every subject area we teach.

This is a great place to be. Our school is also distinguished by the academic accomplishments of our students, evidenced by the measurement of our test scores which are among the highest in Western Pennsylvania. It is distinguished by the leadership that many of our high school students exhibit in mission projects and in their churches. It is distinguished on the athletic field, by both accomplishments and conduct.

It is also distinguished by small class sizes, where it is not unusual to be in a math or science class with seven or eight other students, or in a Spanish or French class with just eight or nine other students. We even offer Russian! And our tuition and fees are kept as reasonable as we can possibly keep them.

Give a Christian education for your children full consideration, and when you do, consider enrolling them at Portersville Christian School. We are striving to be a distinctively Christian school with a clear purpose and vision. We would love to have you join with us.
