Portersville Christian School has been educating students since 1963 and is one of the oldest and most respected Christian schools in Western Pennsylvania. By emphasizing quality Bible-centered education and utilizing a curriculum which is Christian in orientation, we serve over 250 students from pre-kindergarten through twelfth grade, making PCS one of the largest private schools in the region.
PCS has experienced steady growth in both numbers of students and facilities expansion as parents allow us to partner with them and the church in educating their children. Parents appreciate that our administration, teachers and staff are devoted to fulfilling the vision of PCS which is to graduate students with a heart for God who are prepared to serve Him in every area of life.
Strong academics, a spiritual emphasis and extracurricular activities help us prepare our students to serve God. Our school offers solid academic programs from pre-kindergarten through high school with student achievement tests among the best in the region and SAT scores the highest for several years in a row among all schools in the county.
Our students benefit from an integrated Spiritual Life Program through all grade levels which includes weekly chapels, daily Bible classes, and service and ministry opportunities.
PCS also fields successful sports teams, for both boys and girls, regularly winning league and tournament championships. Our Fine Arts Department boasts a Fall Drama and a Spring Musical as well as choirs and elementary and high school bands, including featured ensembles. In addition, home-schooled students are welcome to participate in both regular classes and extracurricular activities.
Unique among private schools is the fact that our students are transported on our own buses, driven by fully trained, committed Christian drivers.
Located in Portersville, Pa. on a beautiful 17-acre campus, Portersville Christian School is just twenty minutes from Cranberry Twp., a northern suburb of Pittsburgh. Cranberry is one of the largest population centers in the county and one of the fastest growing areas, in both population and economic activity, in Pennsylvania. PCS is also easily accessible, via Route 422 and I-79, to other nearby cities, New Castle (20 minutes), Butler (15 minutes) and Slippery Rock (15 minutes).
